Capital Group appoints Camiel de Vries to lead Netherlands and Nordics as Feike Goudsmit takes on new EMEA institutional role

Capital Group, one of the world's largest and most experienced active investment managers, with approximately US$3.6 trillion* in assets under management, today announced two senior leadership appointments as part of its continued investment across EMEA.

Camiel de Vries has been appointed Head of Client Group for the Netherlands and Nordics. Based in Amsterdam, Camiel will be responsible for leading Capital Group's client group activities and local client teams across the Netherlands and Nordics. He will focus on shaping the growth strategy, deepening partnerships across institutional and intermediary clients, and helping to deliver Capital Group's investment capabilities to more investors across the region. He will report to Grant Leon, Head of Europe Client Group, and join the Europe Management Group.

Feike Goudsmit will take on the newly created role of Managing Director, Institutional EMEA, focused on growing and deepening Capital Group's relationships with institutional investors across the region. His new EMEA institutional role comes as Capital Group continues to invest in its institutional presence across the region, including in the Middle East, where it recently secured its regulatory licence in Abu Dhabi. He will work closely with Benno Klingenberg-Timm, Head of Abu Dhabi office and Head of Institutional for Europe and Asia.

Camiel de Vries, Head of Client Group, Netherlands and Nordics at Capital Group, said: “Investors are navigating an uncertain environment and are looking for trusted partners who can help them stay focused on their long-term objectives. Capital Group’s focus on active management, fundamental research and enduring client partnerships provides a strong foundation for doing just that. I look forward to working with clients across the Netherlands and Nordics, deepening existing relationships and helping more investors achieve their long-term goals.”

Camiel brings close to two decades of asset management experience and a strong track record across the BeNeLux and Nordic markets. He joins from Wellington Management, where he most recently served as Head of Nordics and BeNeLux Institutional & Wealth, leading the regional team across pension funds, insurers, family offices and private banks. Since joining Wellington in 2011, he has held senior roles spanning institutional client relations, business development, alternatives and regional leadership.

Feike Goudsmit, Managing Director, Institutional EMEA and Head of Client Group, France, Belgium and Luxembourg at Capital Group, said: “I am excited to take on this new role at an important time for our institutional business across EMEA. We see significant opportunity to build on the strong foundations we have across the region, bringing our capabilities and investment experience to a broader range of institutional investors. I look forward to working with our teams across EMEA as we continue to develop our institutional business and strengthen Capital Group’s presence in the region.”

Grant Leon, Head of Client Group Europe at Capital Group, said: “We continue to invest in our business across Europe, strengthening our leadership and capabilities to support clients and our long-term growth. We are delighted to welcome Camiel to Capital Group. His deep industry experience, strong leadership and longstanding relationships in the Netherlands and Nordics will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business in these important markets. Alongside this, Feike will continue to lead FraBeLux while taking on broader responsibility for our institutional business across EMEA, further strengthening our ability to deepen relationships and serve institutional clients across the region.”

Together, these developments reflect Capital Group’s continued investment in its business across EMEA, strengthening its leadership and capabilities to support both Financial Intermediary and Institutional clients across the region.
